Traffic FAQ Answer to: What is a VC40508a Failure to Appear Violation?

VC40508a (failure to appear) is a violation the Court adds when you have not taken care of your citation in a timely manner.

The violation is reported to DMV. DMV will place a hold on your driver's license. If you incur multiple VC40508a violations, DMV will suspend your driver's license.

Your options are to post bail or schedule a court appearance. See the section on Courtesy Notices on the page "How Do I Take Care of my Traffic Ticket" at this website.
