I got a Fix-it-Ticket
when I was driving my company's vehicle. Can I get
the ticket placed in my company's name?
If your company is willing to accept responsibility for the
fix-it-ticket, they can tell the
Court and ask for a transfer of responsibility.
An authorized representative of your company must ask for the transfer in
writing. The letter must be signed and on company letterhead.
The Commissioner
will review the letter and make a decision. The Commissioner is more
likely to approve a transfer if the citation is for a mechanical
violation.
- Who is responsible to take care of the ticket?
If you were the driver and you signed the
citation, you are responsible for taking care of the violation.
If you get the ticket signed off and show proof of correction to the court
by the due date, the court may dismiss the charge(s).
If this happens, you will have to pay a
dismissal fee, but you won’t have to come back to court.
